Brahman and Droughtmaster Cross cows with Brahman, Droughtmaster, Charolais & Angus Cross calves at foot. Cows are 9 – 12 years old with and have been de-pastured with Brahman, Droughtmaster and Charbray/Charolais cross bulls since the last week of December. These cows constantly average 250kg-260kg dressed, a sample were weighed on the 11th of March to weigh from 365kg to 594kg & averaged 498kg after being in the yard overnight. The calves range from 2 months to 7 months old and are doing well, a sample were weighed in the 11th of March and weighed 41kg to 202kg & averaged 136kg. 226 of the calves were assed to be 48% Brahman, 30% Charolais/Charbray cross with the remainder being a Droughtmaster Brahman Cross. Since being weighed these cattle have had 200mm of rain on their backs and are doing well.
